The purpose of the Farmington Girls Fastpitch Association (FGFA) is to promote the growth and development of the sport of fastpitch softball for girls residing within the boundary area of Independent School District 192.
As of the end of June we are back on the field practicing and playing games. The season may be shorter but there is a season and the girls are having fun. We'll back at you with more information about Fall Ball registration in the coming weeks.
As of Monday, June 9th, FGFA received an update from Minnesota Softball stating that they are cancelling the 2020 Softball Season. We were informed how the 2020 Softball Fall League will look. Fall Ball will begin the weekend of August 8th and conclude the weekend of September 26th. More information on the Fall Ball league and registration will be coming soon. This means that there will be NO league games this season. As we know, the situation that we are in is constantly changing. At this time, FGFA will be providing an option for a refund or an option to continue practicing with the hopes that games will be granted approval within the next few days/weeks.
Option A: Receive a refund for the season:
2020 Summer Season Refund:
8U = $125.00, which does not include the original SportsEngine processing fee
10U = $275.00, which does not include the original SportsEngine processing fee and tryout expenses
12U & 14U = $250.00, which does not include the original SportsEngine processing fee and tryout expenses
Option B: Choose to NOT receive a refund:
This option will provide the opportunity to continue with softball practices at this time and the potential to play in tournaments in July and August. When allowed by the guidelines, it will also provide the potential for scrimmages with other associations that are choosing to field teams.
The following tournaments are currently scheduled:
July 16-19, 2020 – 12U NAFA Nationals
July 18-19, 2020 - 8U/10U/12U State Tournament
July 23-26, 2020 – 8U/10U/14U NAFA Nationals
July 25-26, 2020 - 14U State Tournament
**Depending on the number of players who choose this option teams will most likely need to be adjusted to fill rosters. Teams will remain competitive.**
